Blog entry 4 - period 2
My group and i presented and explained new vocabulary related to classroom objects, such as rulers, erasers, blackboards, and others. The lesson was highly interactive, incorporating familiar games like the Bloket word game (similar to hangman). The students were very engaged and participated actively.
Additionally, we covered the use of "this," "these," "that," and "those," learning how to differentiate between them when talking about objects that are either nearby or farther away. These words function as demonstrative pronouns when they replace a previously mentioned noun or one that is clearly defined by the context, serving the same purpose as demonstrative adjectives.
This topic is important because mastering vocabulary related to classroom objects and understanding the use of demonstrative pronouns like "this," "these," "that," and "those" helps improve communication accuracy and clarity. It allows learners to describe objects and their locations more precisely, making conversations more effective.
In addition, knowing how to use demonstratives properly enhances both written and spoken language, helping students to express themselves clearly in everyday situations. It also reinforces grammar skills by emphasizing the relationship between nouns and their references.
